Your guests will be delighted and very appreciative to find a table set up at the exit to the reception that contains large glass containers of homemade cookies. This could be a very fun time with bridesmaid gathering in your kitchen. Or if your mom is known for her culinary abilities, let her show off! Little baggies with a "Thank you for coming" tag can be added for personalization.

For all you chocolate lovers out there, we have the best chocolate ganache recipe! ... it's fool proof. Chocolate ganache is an amazing chocolate glaze. It pours, amazingly, over cakes and desserts. Chocolate ganache is not just for cakes, but cupcakes, brownies and pies! For this simple but delicious recipe, you will need:
24 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
3 cups heavy cream
½ teaspoon coarse salt
Place chocolate in a medium bowl. Bring cream and salt to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat. Pour over chocolate, whisk until smooth. Let cool until thick yet pourable, 2-3 minutes. Use immediately. (if ganache starts to thicken, warm gently until pourable again.) Delicious!
Can't you just feel the love at weddings? They are so personal and usually every guest is happy for this couple and excited for them to start their future together. Recently I was reading an article in Brides Magazine and came across a Real Wedding in Maryland. They had the cutest way to symbolize love through their desserts. There were five chocolates served to communicate five aspects of marriage: sourness, sweetness, bitterness, joy, and passion. What a cute idea! You can also incorporate this into wine, a six course meal, and even wedding party gifts. Get creative!

There has been a sweet battle going on for a while now whether cupcakes or a wedding cake is the better way to go. Both have their advantages and both have their disadvantages but in the end the decision is really based on what the bride and groom's preference is. Cupcakes give off a more casual feeling, but if you want to have cupcakes and give them a more formal, traditional feel try using a cupcake tower or have plates stacked at different heights on the dessert table. Cupcakes give you the option to offer more than one flavor to your guests and helps with waste because if someone doesn't want one they won't take one. On the other side it is a lot less cake to work with so the design and wow factor of cupcakes will be less. A wedding cake on the other hand is more of a formal traditional look, and gives the designer more room to create and work with, it is also the more traditional way to go. So the choice is yours, what will it be?
