Dynamite Weddings - Bridal Mixer

Monday, March, 15 2010   •   Advertising Opportunities   •   by Dynamite Weddings

Our last Bridal Mixer at Celebrations Party Rentals was a hit and our awesome vendors were there to showcase their amazing specialties! A Big thanks to Celebrations for being great hosts!

Oh my gosh - seriously can Sugar and Spice Specialty Desserts get any better?! Each time I taste treats made by Carissa of Sugar and Spice, they are better than the last time. :-) Sugar and Spice provided all the desserts for the recent Dynamite Weddings Bridal Mixer.

I know Carissa will be a doll and comment on the specifics of each treat shown below. But I can say for sure that the cream puff thingy was the bomb!

Marvin always likes to sit atop our faux cake and watch over the dessert table.

If you want to consider something more than cake at your wedding, be sure to check out Sugar and Spice Specialty Desserts. Thanks Carissa!

John, of Profinish Design brought a photobooth to the recent Dynamite Weddings Bridal Mixer. As you can see, even all the vendors got in line wanting to get their picture taken. :-) Thanks John! Be sure to check out Profinish Design for your wedding or special event for your photobooth needs.

Bocca Catering provided wonderful treats for all those in attendance at the recent Dynamite Weddings Bridal Mixer. Check out this great display! Be sure to check out Bocca Catering if you are looking for a caterer for your wedding or special event.

Celebrations, Sugar and Spice, Profinish Design, and Bocca Catering are Dynamite Weddings Experts

Meet Jasmine!

Friday, February, 5 2010   •   Advertising Opportunities   •   by Dynamite Weddings

Some of you have already met the newest addition to the Dynamite Weddings team but for those of you who have not had the pleasure... Meet Jasmine! Jasmine graduated from Sacramento State with a BS in Dietetics and a Minor in Business...and recently landed here at Dynamite Weddings! Random, we realize but she is doing a bang up job, we love having her and she loves Dynamite Weddings. Jasmine is writing content, managing the site and handling sales for Dynamite Weddings. Some of you met Jasmine at the last mixer, those who didn't, here are some images and some tidbits on our Jasmine....

"I love fitness, nutrition, and wellness. I believe your inner happiness can sculpt anything and everything around you. Beauty and happiness truly comes from within!"

Here's Jasmine with one of her favorite things....Rocco! Rocco or Rocco Taco as we all call him is a Boston Terrier with one baby blue eye and one brown eye. He is loaded with character and lots of gumption. He is fearless and will approach anything and anyone for exploration purposes.

We asked Jasmine to give us more insight on her and she let us know about the many things she loves and can't live without....

My Family! My family is your typical indian family, they fight hard and love hard. We are the Indian version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." It's a fight to get your voice heard and you have to be sharp because we all just crack jokes about each other. My mother is the most driven woman I know and my father has the kindest heart. I am so grateful for their presence in my life. I'm also very grateful for my older brother who might feel younger at times, but is one of the most influential people in my life.

My friends! Friends are the greatest treasures I have come across over time. I feel like I have hit gold with the people in my life! I love the camaraderie and the fact that we want nothing, but the best for each other. I have finally come to the realization that I get to choose who is in my life and I want nothing but the best! Therefore, all of my friends are best friends, there is no need to single one person out.

Travel. I am blessed to have parents who also love to travel and we get to share seeing the world and learning about other cultures. My favorite trip to date has been my return to India. I went to India the first time when I was three years old. I do remember going to the zoo with a banana in one hand and my favorite purse in another, but that is about all I remember. I returned two years ago. It was such a humbling experience seeing where my parents came from and what they had to do to get where they are now. I am so proud of the drive and perseverance it took them to get here.

Long distance running and Kickboxing workouts! Not the cardio kickboxing workouts, but the real-deal, hitting a bag workout. I say long distance because I have the longest legs, but man I can't sprint at all!

LAUGHING! Laughing might not be the cure for everything, but it sure makes things a lot more fun!

Sunny days. I feel like the sun is a big slap of happiness in my face! Best slap ever! The rain is fun when I'm asleep and don't have to deal with Rocco's wet paws.

Bright colors. They make me extremely happy and energetic!

Summer dresses. Jeans are very stuffy and when they don't fit just right, then a flowy dress will hide all the extra goodies you've been eating!

Wine nights and sparkly white lights. Both make you feel so cozy!

Meeting new people. There are so many great things to learn about from everyone you meet. And, there is good and bad in every single person. Embrace the good.

Love love love, all you need is love.

Here's a picture of Jasmine stuffing her cheeks with delicious Sugar and Spice cookies!!

New FTC Regulations

Tuesday, December, 1 2009   •   Advertising Opportunities   •   by Dynamite Weddings

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) which oversees regulations related to blogging and social media, has passed final guides related to endorsements, sponsorships and testimonials on blogs. 16 C.F.R. Part 255 refers to the new FTC Regulations that go into effect today, December 1, 2009.

The regulations concern the obligation of bloggers to disclose if they are being compensated when they talk about someone or something. What does this exactly mean? In general, the new regulations are common sense. If a reasonable consumer would not know that you are being compensated for your post or endorsement (either with money or free goods), you have to disclose the relationship. According to Liene Stevens at Splendid Communications: " this also extends to preferred vendor lists and directories, not just reviews of products on blogs. This means that if you pay to advertise in a magazine's, website's or blog's vendor directory, and display one of the blog badges that shows you are a member, you have to disclose that you paid to be included. The blogs and sites that you advertise with will also have to disclose that their membership is paid advertising, regardless of how extensive their research and selection process may be. If a blog features your work in an editorial post, and you are one of their advertisers, they will have to disclose that as well, even if it is not a sponsored post."

Liene points out that it is also important to note that these regulations apply not just to blogs, but to websites, Twitter, Facebook and other areas of social media as well.

What this means is that you will see changes to our site soon, along with our formal Policies and Disclosures. It was meant to be up by today but we've had a small delay in our site changes. But know we take these changes seriously and we will be making appropriate modifications.
